Th Final Four Has Arrived

At last the Final Four has arrived. The teams who have made it this far are the Michigan State Spartans, the North Carolina Tar-heals, the Connecticut (UConn) Huskies, and the Villanova Wildcats. This year it takes place in Detroit, the day before my birthday. Unfortuately, my parents could not manage to find tickets. Normally I would root against Michigan State. Let me refraise that, normally I would hate Michigan State with a passion, but it is much different now. I do not like any of the teams left in the tournament, so I am rooting for Michigan State because they are representing all of the state of Michigan.

The better of the Final Four games, in my opinion is Michigan State against UConn. It is going to be a very tough game for MSU to deal with the monsterous UConn center, Hasheem Thabit. It is going to be a great game. Althought UConn is ranked higher, and Michigan State is the underdog, I still think that they will manage to pull off the win.

The other game of the Final Four is Villnova against North Carolina. Tyler Hansboro is a geat team leaeder. This is his senior year, so he is going to play very good. I see, as almost all college basketball fans do, that North Carolina will completley tear Villanova apart. Villanova is a good team, do not get me wrong, but North Carolina is beyond good. They are questionably the best college team in history.

The championship game is two day after. This is the day after my birthday. In the championship I am perdicting the classic underdog win. as for the score, I think that Michigan State will win, eighty six to sievnty nine. It is very unlikely that the score will turn out exactly like this, but I do think it will be something around this.

March Madness Break

In the next few weeks, until the beginning of April, I will be taking a break of blogging about the NBA, and I will be blogging about March Madness. For those of you who do not know what March Madness is, it is the annual Natioal College Athletic Association men's basketball tournament. Teams like Duke and North Carolina are always predicted to do good, and one usually loses to the other in the Final Four. This is later on in the tournament when only four teams remain unbeaten in the tournament. Those two teams usually dominate the right side of the bracket, with the acception of last year's tournament. The left side is a much different story this year. Some of the main contestants on the left side of the bracket include Louisville, Ohio State (who doesn't even deserve to be in this tournament just for being themselves), Michigan State, UCLA, and Marquette. This side of the bracket is going to be much more interesting. On the right side, for the first time in around fifteen years, Michigan has made it into the March Madness tournament. Many people are hating on them saying that they are not getting very far past the first round, if they get past the first round, but I think they will do much better than expected. In the Final Four, I think that some very unexpected things will happen. I have predicted that Marquette will make it there, but lose to Michigan State. I think Duke will make it there but lose to Michigan. In the championship I think that Michigan State will lose to Michigan. This is very likely, but I would do anything to see this happen. It is most likely that it will not happen, and that either Duke or North Carolina will go from the right side of the bracket but this is how I think it should happen.

All-Star Weekend Results

On Saturday Night of the NBA All-Star Weekend, the Detroit team started it off by taking the shooting stars competition. The shooting stars competition was followed by the skills challenge. Derek Rose did extremely well, and finished it off by bringing the ball low and dunking it behind his back. Next was the three point shoot out. The last three contestents in it were Daiquan Cook, Jason Kapono, and Rashard Lewis. Cook won it, and it did not even seem one bit challenging for him. The last contest of the night was the Dunk Competiton. This is always my favorite competition of them all. Many alley-oops were thrown up in the first round, but the last two contestant left were five foot nine Nate Robinson and six foot nine Dwight Howard. Dwight was great, but Nate took it by jumping over Howard. I was amazed by this. The weekend finished off with the west destroying the east.

The All-Star Weekend

This NBA All-Star weekend is going to be great. It is kicking off with the celebrity All-Star game and the Rookie challenge. Celebrities that will be participating in this event include Clyde Drexler, Terrell Owens, Chris Tucker, several of the Harlem Globetrotters, and many others. For more details on this game go to http://www.nba.com/2009/allstar2009/02/10/celebrity_roster.allstar09.20090210/index.html.

In my opinion, Saturday night is going to be the most exciting night of all the All-Star weekend. It starts out with the Shooting Stars challenge. This competition takes one NBA star, one WNBA star, and one NBA legend, puts them on one team, and they must work togeather to hit a series of different shots including a lay-up, a three point shot, and a half court shot. After that is the skills challenge. This is a competition between the quickest guards in the NBA. They must complete a few passes, shoot some shots, and dribble around obsticles. It sounds much more simple than it acctually is. After the skills challenge comes the Three Point Shoot Out. It is simply what it sounds like. Each participant must make as many three point shots out of 25 shots, in one minute. To top the night off, there is the Dunk competition. In this competition, Dwight Howard, Nate Robinson, J.R. Smith, and Rudy Fernandez will be competing to see who can complete the most acrobatic dunk. They will be scored out of fifty points, each judge can give up to ten points. The judges are usually NBA legends.

On Sunday the acctual All-Star game takes place. this is a test of skills between players from the Eastern coast of the United States, and the West Coast. It is always a very good game. I think the East will take home the prise.
